ThechargingcableistheelectricalconnectionbetweentheACvoltagenetworkandthedirectcurrent
voltagehigh-voltageelectricalsystemofthevehicle.TheconnectiontotheACvoltagenetworkis
effectedatatypicalhouseholdpowersocketwithprotectivecontact,whichdoesnotincludeElectric
VehicleSupplyEquipment.InthiscasetheswitchingandfunctionsoftheElectricVehicleSupply
Equipmentareintegratedinthechargingcable.Thisiscalledan"In-Cablebox".Thischargingcable
fortheI01isalwaysdesignedforsingle-phasesupply,inlinewiththechargingsocketatthevehicle
(phase L1andneutralconductor N)andalwaysincludestheprotectiveearth PE,aswellasthepilot
andproximityline.Theconnectorisdesignedsothattheconnectionisfirstmadewiththeprotective
contact.Thegroundisgroundedviatheprotectiveearth.
Thechargingcablecanbehousedinthechargingcablecompartmentundertheenginecompartment
lid.
Pleaseconsulttheoperatinginstructionsoftherespectivemanufacturerfortheoperationanduseofa
chargingcablewithanintegratedEVSE.
EmployeesinBMWServicecannotperformanymaintenanceorrepairworkonthechargingcable
ortheEVSE.IntheeventofadefectwithoramalfunctionofthechargingcableortheEVSE,the
manufacturermustbecontacted.
