Orient the piston ring gaps as shown

2. Install the connecting rod, wrist pin buttons and
wrist pin into the piston.
NOTE: Make sure the buttons are installed with
the recess of the button facing the piston.

REPAIR
Cylinder Inspection and Repair
1.
Check all gasket surfaces to make sure they are
free of debris. Gasket surfaces must also be free
of deep scratches or nicks.
2. Inspect the cylinder and cylinder head for wear an
damage.
3.
Inspect the intake port of the cylinder head for
blockage. Clean if necessary.
4. Inspect and clean the "EGR" (Exhaust Gas
Recirculation) hole, which is located between the
exhaust and intake ports.
