IDENTIFICATION
NUMBERS
When ordering parts, or in any communication involv-
ing an engine or product, always give the:
Model Number, and
Serial
Number
These numbers are located on a decal (or decals) af-
fixed to the unit (Figure 1-1). The identification de-

location will vary depending on the type of product.

OIL AND FUEL
RECOMMENDATIONS
WARNING: Explosive Fuel!
Gasoline Is extremely flammable and its vapors

since spilled fuel could ignite if

Recommended Oil Type
Toro 4-cycle oil is recommended for use in this engine
(Figure 1-2). If another brand 4-cycle oil is used, use a
high quality SAE 30 weight oil of API (American Pe-
troleum Institute) service class SG,
SF,
SH.
Using the proper type and weight of
oil in the oil pan is
extremely important. Check the oil before each use
and change the oil regularly. Failure to use the correct
oil, or using dirty oil, can cause premature engine
wear and failure.
