PISTON/CONNECTING ROD
DISASSEMBLY & ASSEMBLY
1.
Remove the three
(3)
piston rings from the
piston/connecting rod.
2. Remove the wrist pin buttons, wrist pin and
connecting rod from the piston.

Piston
Inspection
and
Repair
1.
Inspect the piston and piston rings for wear and
damage. Refer to the specifications and
tolerances in Part 1

General Information.
Replace the piston and piston rings if necessary.
2. Inspect the ring grooves on the piston for carbon
deposits. Clean the ring grooves thoroughly with
an old broken ring.
