Adjusting the driving characteristics
WARNING
Risk of accidents and injury due to incorrect configura-
tion settings. Modified parameter settings in the configu-
ration can lead to changes in driving characteristics. In
particular, changes to the speed, acceleration, braking or
joystick settings can lead to unexpected and therefore un-
controllable operating performance with a risk of acci-
dents. Always test the driving characteristics of the power
wheelchair after configuration / programming is complete.
Programming may only be performed by authorised,
trained specialists. Ottobock and the control unit manufac-
turer are not liable in cases of damage caused by pro-
gramming which was not performed correctly and/or
which was not adjusted correctly according to the abilities
of the wheelchair user.
Only authorised specialist dealer service personnel can use
a handheld programming device, which is connected to the
control panel, to adapt the speed, acceleration and decel-
eration values to the individual wishes of the user.

6.3.5 "Battery charge level" display

INFORMATION
Immediately after switching the power wheelchair on, the
battery indicator shows the battery capacity that was
saved before the wheelchair was last switched off. The ex-
act battery status is displayed after driving a short dis-
tance.
INFORMATION
At temperatures of < 0 °C/32 °F the battery capacity drops
by up to 35 % in relation to the capacity for an outside
temperature of 20 °C/68 °F. This shortens the range of the
power wheelchair accordingly. Moreover at low tempera-
tures the charge level displayed on the control panel can
differ more significantly from the actual battery capacity.
The battery indicator in the LCD display is divided into
7 segments and shows the current charge level.
A charge of 100 % corresponds to 7 segments on the bat-
tery symbol. As the remaining battery charge decreases, the
LCD segments turn off one by one (see table 1).
When the last segment flashes, the battery must be charged
immediately.
