Allmobilityproductsshouldbeinspectedandservicedonceayear. However,iftheproductisusedfrequently,orifitisusedbygrowingchildrenorpatientswithchan- gingclinicalconditions,werecommendreadjustingandservicingtheproductevery6months. Onlyuseoriginalsparepartsforallserviceandmaintenance. Theserviceandmaintenancetasksdescribedhereshouldonlybecompletedbytrained,qua- lifiedpersonnelandnotbytheuseroftheappliance. Thisserviceandmaintenancemanualreferstothesparepartscatalogsandinstructionsfor usemanualsfortheproductsdescribedhere.Forthisreason,itisimportanttousethesedo- cumentstogether. Usethemaintenanceschedule(checklist)asatemplateformakingcopies.Retaincompleted maintenanceschedulesandprovidethecustomerwithacopy. Putthetransportwheelsandspacersleevesenclosedontotheprotrudingscrewsandsecure thetransportwheelswithcapnutsenclosed(Fig.5,itemB).

Openthetwopartadhesivesachet.Observetheinstructionsgivenbythemanufacturerofthe adhesive. Usethespatulatosqueezeoutallthecontentsofthesachetintothecentreofthemixingcard. Mixtheadhesiveusingthespatula.Ensureyouworkeffectivelyaftermixing,sincetheadhesive setsquickly. Applyhalfoftheadhesiveintoeachoftherubberhandgripsusingthespatula.Evenlydistribute theadhesiveintherubberhandgripuptoadepthofapprox.4-5cm(Fig.40).
