Operation

6.4.4 "Battery charge level" indicator

INFORMATION
Immediately after switching the sports wheelchair on, the
battery indicator shows the battery capacity saved before
the wheelchair was switched off the last time. The exact
battery status is displayed after approximately 5 minutes.
INFORMATION
At temperatures of < 0 °C/32 °F the battery capacity
drops by up to 35 % in relation to the capacity for anout-
side temperature of 20 °C/68 °F. This shortens the range
of the power wheelchair accordingly. Moreover at low
temperatures the charge level displayed on the control
panel can differ more significantly from the actual battery
capacity.
The battery indicator in the LED display is divided into
10 segments and shows the current charge level.
A charge of 100 % corresponds to 7 segments on the bat-
tery symbol. As the remaining battery charge decreases, the
LED segments turn off one by one (see Table 2).
When the last segment flashes, the battery must be charged
immediately.

If all the segments have disappeared and the battery symbol
is flashing, the battery is under voltage. Since any further
use will lead to battery damage, a warning signal also ap-
pears. Then the sports wheelchair drives only at creep
speed.
If all the segments of the battery symbol are flashing, this
means that the battery is over voltage. Since this will lead to
battery damage, a warning symbol also appears.
The charging process is indicated by the battery segments
lighting up one after the other. When the battery is charging,
the driving function is locked out.
