3.6.1 Diagnostic buffer STEP 7 (version 4.x, 5.1)

Direct diagnostic events in conjunction with the CP valve ter-
minal can be:
– decentral periphery: station failure
– communication between slave and master interrupted
– Faulty module
– see device-related diagnosis
– Transition from operating status START to RUN (nominal/
actual difference)
– configuration data of the CP valve terminal do not
correspond to the periphery
– CP valve terminal has incorrect DIL setting
The diagnostic buffer of STEP 7 offers the possibility of dis-
playing diagnostic events of the S7 system in the order in
which they occur.
Prerequirements:
– HW Config has been accessed
Proceed as follows (Fig. 3/20):
1. Switch from Offline to Online 1
2. Use the right-hand mouse key to mark the CPU in the
rack. Now click "Module Information" in the menu which
appears. 2
3. The window "Module Information" will appear. 3
4. Select the rider "Diagnostic Buffer" 4
