Note
The image you obtain
in the preview when
you use the Filters tool
may differ from the
way the image will
appear when you scan
it in. This depends on
your resolution, and
the higher the setting,
the less obvious
certain filters (like Blur)
will have.

The Filters tool lets you apply or create special
effects to your images. This tool is disabled when
your image type is set to billions of colors, 1,000
shades of gray (grayscale), line art, and halftone.
The filters include Blur, Blur More, Sharpen,
Sharpen More, Edge Enhancement, Emboss, and
Unsharp Masking.
To use the filters:
Click on the Filters tool in the Settings

window. When the Advanced Image Enhancer
(AIE) dialog box appears, click on the Filter
box, and from the drop-down menu that
appears, select the filter to be used.
Click on an action button.

• Click OK to accept changes and exit the AIE
dialog box.
• Click Cancel to abandon all changes and exit
the AIE dialog box.
• Click Reset to restore settings to original
default values.
• Click Revert to cancel the effect of the
current image-enhancement tool.
