Spring between
crankcase and tank
housing
The spring is located underneath
the machine, between the
crankcase and tank housing.
– Remove the shroud and air filter
cover, b 7.4 and b 7.5
– Unscrew the rubber buffer
between tank housing and
crankcase, b 10.2
– Remove the handlebar, b 10.5
The tank housing can now be
moved down slightly to remove the
spring.
Note:
Do not pull the tank housing down
too far, otherwise the manifold may
be damaged.
: Undo screw (arrow).
TS 700, TS 800
Note:
If the bottom bearing plug turns as
the screw is being unscrewed,
press the tank housing against the
spring until the screw is released.
: Press the tank housing down
slightly and unscrew the
spring (1) from the upper bearing
plug in anticlockwise direction.
: Remove the screw (arrow) from
the upper bearing plug (1).
– Remove the bearing plug (1).
– Reassemble parts in reverse
order.
: Screw the spring (1) and bottom
bearing plug (2) into the upper,
screwed-on bearing plug.

: So that the spring is seated
correctly, it must be screwed into
the upper and lower bearing
plugs completely (arrows).
– Reassemble remaining parts in
reverse order.
– Tightening torques, b 3.6
