contact with the cam to the rocker arm.

The timing gear transfers power from the crankshaft to
each gears.

2.19.2 Structure of timing gears

Timing gears are made up of the crank gear, idle gear,
cam gear and supply pump gear.
(1) Supply pump gear
(2) Idle gear
(3) Cam gear

2.19.3 Function of timing gears

The timing gears transfer power from the crankshaft to
each gears.
The timing gears determine movement timing of each
of the parts in conjunction with movement of the piston.
Timing gears synchronize timing for rotation of the
crankshaft and opening and closing of valves.
Therefore, when assembling each of the marks has to
be aligned.
