3. Cable test for external devices. This is used only if there are no internal de-
vices.
The purpose of this test is to check the cable for shorted or broken wires. If
the loopback test failed, this test may also fail due to failed circuitry on the
CPU board rather than due to a bad cable.
This test displays these messages:
Connect the single-ended part of the SCSI test connector to the SCSI port on
the back panel of the system unit.

NOTICE:
This test should only be run if you have a special test
connector and should be skipped if one is not available.
At the end of this test, it is VERY important that the test
connector be removed. Failure to do so will cause the
Boot ROM to hang while trying to use the interface con-
nected to this cable.
Attach SINGLE-ENDED test connector
X cancels, RETURN continues testing
What To Do
Cancel the test if there are any internal SCSI devices.
The last three sections of this test cannot be run if
there are any internal SCSI devices present.
Turn off power to ALL SCSI peripherals. If a
particular sequence is required for proper system
shut-down, that sequence must be followed.
Remove the SCSI cable at the first SCSI peripheral
down the SCSI interface from the system unit.
Pressing < X > cancels the SCSI test.
Pressing < RETURN > continues the SCSI test.
