For the sake of the environment
A flat battery is particularly harmful waste
for the environment. It must therefore be
disposed of according to current local law.
Note
Replace a battery once it is older than 5
years.
Warning lamp
It lights up
Alternator fault.
The control lamp lights up when the ignition is
switched on. It should go out when the engine
has started running.
If the control lamp
lights up while driving,
the alternator is no longer charging the bat-
tery. You should immediately drive to the
nearest specialised workshop.
You should avoid using electrical equipment
that is not absolutely necessary because this
will drain the battery.
CAUTION
Additionally, if the warning lamp
up while driving, the warning lamp
lights up (cooling system fault). Stop the
