As descent is due to gravity, the platform and basket cannot be rotated and the
telescopic boom cannot be extended or retracted, therefore the basket is lowered
vertically at a distance from the centre of rotation that depends on the configura‐
tion of the machine at the time when the emergency situation occurred.
