(3) Rotate crankshaft until timing marks are
aligned at both the camshafts and crankshaft (Fig.
111) and (Fig. 112).

(4) Loosen timing belt tensioner lock nut (Fig.
113).
(5) Insert a 6 mm Allen wrench into the hexagon
opening located on the top plate of the belt tensioner
pulley. Rotate the top plate CLOCKWIS E until there
is enough slack in timing belt to allow for removal
(Fig. 113).
(6) Remove timing belt.
CAUTION: Do not rotate the camshaft(s) once the
timing belt has been removed or damage to valve
components may occur.

CAMSHAFT SPROCKET(S)
(1) Disconnect negative battery cable.
(2) Remove timing belt (Refer to 9 - ENGINE/
VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT AND SPROCKETS -
REMOVAL).
(3) Hold camshaft sprockets with Special Tools
C-4687 and Adaptor C-4687-1 (Fig. 114), while
removing attaching bolts. Remove camshaft sprock-
ets.

CRANKSHAFT SPROCKET
(1) Disconnect negative battery cable.
(2) Remove timing belt (Refer to 9 - ENGINE/
VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT AND SPROCKETS -
REMOVAL).
