An MPS 1000 configuration can consist of one or more MPS 1000 cabinets, each with multiple
servers that connect to a KVM in one cabinet by a Console Switch mounted in the cabinet with the
KVM.
• In a single-cabinet configuration, the MPS 1000 cabinet contains multiple servers, a KVM, and
a Console Switch.
• Multiple-cabinet MPS 1000 systems are usually configured with:
- one MPS 1000 cabinet containing multiple servers, a KVM, and a Console Switch
- the other MPS 1000 cabinets containing multiple servers
When using a DC power supply, the Console Switch is integrated with the KVM and is on the back
of the KVM unit.
• The Console Switch has eight ports and can support a maximum of eight MPS 1000 cabinets
(one per port). One port is used by the servers that reside in the cabinet with the KVM. A
maximum of seven additional cabinets can connect with that KVM.
• The DC KVM requires a KVM Switch Adapter cable for each port. This cable is supplied with
the KVM and attaches to an Input Port on the KVM Console Switch. The C2T output cable
connects from the server to the KVM Switch Adapter cable.
