EISA Configuration Utility

You need to run the EISA Configuration Utility (ECU) whenever you add or move EISA
options, or some ISA options, in the system. Each EISA or ISA board has a corresponding
configuration (CFG) file that describes the characteristics and the system resources
required for that option. The ECU uses the CFG file to create a conflict-free configuration.
The ECU is a menu-based utility that provides online help to guide you through the
configuration process. The ECU is run from the AlphaBIOS console.
The ECU is supplied on a system configuration diskette shipped with the system. Make a
backup copy of the system configuration diskette and keep the original in a safe place. Use
the backup copy when you are configuring the system. The system configuration diskette
must have the volume label "SYSTEMCFG."
NOTE:
The CFG files supplied with the option you want to install may not work on this
system if the option is not supported. Before you install an option, check that the
system supports the option.
The version of the ECU that ships with
accommodates eight EISA slots. However,
have only three EISA slots, slots 1, 2, and 3.
