Example
To get a list of all switching cards installed in the slots of a Series 3700A, send the following
command over the remote command interface:
for x=1,6 do print (slot[x].idn) end
The response will be similar to the following:

Maximum power usage with Series 3700A cards

The Series 3700A series offers a growing family of high-density and general-purpose plug-in cards
that accommodates a broad range of signals at very competitive pricing. The Series 3700A supports
applications as diverse as design validation, accelerated stress testing, data acquisition, and
functional testing.
Plug-in cards can switch many relays at once, which can take a substantial amount of system power.
There is a limited amount of system power available for switching relays. Therefore, use care so that
the maximum power available from the Series 3700A is not exceeded. The maximum power available
is limited on a per-slot and per-bank basis as shown in the following table.

The maximum slot power limit is 10,500 mW. The maximum bank power usage is 12,300 mW.
Based on the previous table, the total power available for slots 1, 2, and 3 is 12,300 mW (12.3 W).
Similarly, the total power available for slots 4, 5, and 6 is 12.3 W. Attempting to exceed these power
levels results in the system performing as many of the operations as possible until these power limits
are reached. An error message is then created and the remaining operations are not performed.
