Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before
operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or
electrical shock.
1.
Overfilling can be caused by a few
conditions.
2.
First, check if water stops flowing through
the inlet valves when power is turned off to
the washer. If the water stops flowing then
the problem is not with the inlet valves. If
water continues to flow, then shut off the
hot water and see if the water stops flowing
into the washer. If not, then shut off the
cold water supply. Knowledge of which
valves are affected is crucial in diagnostics
and in cutting the service time down. After
determining which valve is not closing the
technician should keep the water supply
turned off and remove the coil and core with
diaphragm from the valve to determine if a
blockage or sediment is causing the valve
to not seal off the incoming water. If the
diaphragm is damaged a kit can be ordered
or a new inlet valve should be ordered.
When repairing the damaged valve, it is
possible to replace just the valve core and
or solenoid taken from the new valve, which
will save time during a service call.
3.
Second would be a blocked or leaking air
hose that runs from the Water Level Switch
on the Control Board down to the Drain
Valve. This hose should be inspected for rub
marks, cracks or pin-holes. It should also be
checked at the lower end for debris in the
hose that connects at the Drain Valve.
nOTe: It is recommended that a technician
have a spare hose for an MFR80 on
the truck as a test tool and emergency
replacement part. For this hose order part
#23001252
4.
The third condition causing an over-fill
condition is a failed pressure switch on
the Control Board. Although this condition
is rare it does happen from time to time.
Testing the water level switch. Use the test
air hose to replace the washer air hose, turn
on the washer and see if the washer stops
filling during the wash segment. If water
over fills then the control board should be
replaced.
