6.
Clean the surface of the basket shaft with
a Scotch-Brite™ pad so as not to remove
any material that would change the shaft
dimension.
7.
Apply a thin layer of Scotch-Clad™ 776
to the shaft where the rubber seal and
counter-face ring will be installed. Keep
this adhesive off the bearing seats. Let
the adhesive dry for about 1/2 hour at
room temperature. Apply a second coat of
Scotch-Clad™ 776 in the same place as
before.
8.
Within one minute of applying the second
coat of adhesive, install the rubber seal and
counter-face ring onto the shaft, rubber seal
first, against the tub. Do not use any tools
to press the counter-face ring into position,
because it can break the counter-face ring
or cause scratches. Make sure the back of
the rubber sleeve is pushed completely flat
against the basket shaft shoulder. Let this
seal and adhesive dry for 1/2 hour at room
temperature.
9.
Clean the seal holder without changing any
dimensions or deforming the holder in any
way. Remove any sealant and dirt from the
surfaces.
