To install the rear bearing into the bearing
housing, make sure the bearing seat is
clean and free of grease. Place a thin film
of Loctite® 603 around the rear bearing
seat in the bearing housing, not on the
bearing. Apply only a thin layer, otherwise
the function of the bearing can be affected.

Assemble the tool, #518878, with the
sleeve, #518905, and push bushing,
#518956 with the protruding side facing the
bearing. Insert the tool from the front of the
bearing housing and seat the push bushing
into the front bearing opening. Install the
new rear bearing, push bushing #518955
with the protruding side toward the bearing.
Install the push bearing and the cog nut.

Manually tighten cog nut until entire tool
has centered the bearing in the bearing
housing. Use the lever bars, #514759, to
turn the cog nut, pressing the bearing into
position. Once started, apply continuous
pressure until the bearing is fully seated.
Failure to do so can result in an improperly
seated bearing.

Pack the front of the rear bearing full of
grease through the front bearing opening.

To install the front bearing into the bearing
housing, make sure the bearing seat is

Pack the rear facing side of the front
bearing full of grease.
nOTe: Make sure not to get any grease on
the surface of the outer race of the bearing.
Place a thin film of Loctite® 603 around the
front bearing seat in the bearing housing,
not on the bearing. Apply only a thin layer,
otherwise the function of the bearing can be
affected.
Assemble the tool, #518878, with the
sleeve, #518905, and push bushing,
#518955, with the protruding side facing the
rear bearing. Insert the tool through the rear
bearing. Install the new front bearing, push
bushing, #518956 with the protruding side
toward the bearing. Install the push bearing
and the cog nut.

Lever Bars
Manually tighten cog nut until entire tool
has centered the bearing in the bearing
housing. Use the lever bars, #514759, to
turn the cog nut, pressing the bearing into
position. Once started, apply continuous
pressure until the bearing is fully seated.
