Preparing the CPX terminal for commissioning

Preparations
4−4
CPX terminals can be connected to various fieldbuses.
Connection is made via the CPX bus node that is adapted to
suit the relevant fieldbus.
The reaction of the CPX terminal can be adapted to various
requirements. You can carry out important settings as
follows:
With the DIL switch directly on the CPX bus node (see
section 3.1.2).
By parametrisation (see section 4.2.1).
The DIL switch and the parameters are preset at the factory.
Caution
Incorrectly set DIL switches and parameters can cause
damage during operation. You must observe the following
instructions in order to prevent damage.
Check the DIL switch settings before using and replacing
·
CPX terminals.
Make sure that the desired parametrisation of the CPX
·
terminal in the start−up phase or after fieldbus interrup
tions is carried out by the plug−in module or the scanner/
bus master, providing this is supported by the fieldbus
protocol used. This is to ensure that if the CPX terminal is
replaced, the new terminal will also be operated with the
desired parameter settings.
Before commissioning a fieldbus system with CPX terminals,
you should first prepare each individual CPX terminal for
commissioning.
