Commissioning
Warning
During commissioning, the system may be manipulated to such an
extent that can result in risks to life and material damage.
Ensure that system components cannot start up unintentionally.
Warning
Conduct an insulation test before each commissioning (refer to the section,
General Contact Information).
Caution
The procedures applied during commissioning depend on which control unit is being used on site.
The descriptions in this chapter use commissioning with a PROFINET network adaapter and the GE
Proficy Machine Edition as an example.

8.1 Requirements

Before you start the commissioning work, the following requirements must be fulfilled.
The control unit must be in operation.
The RSTi-EP station must be completely assembled and wired up.
The control unit and RSTi-EP station must be connected via fieldbus, and a PC/laptop must
also be connected.
The power supply must be turned on.
If these requirements are fulfilled, the following LEDs light up:
On the bus network adapter
o The PWR LED lights up green.
o For the port to which the control unit is connected, the LINK LED lights up green and
the ACT LED lights up yellow.
On the modules, the Status LED lights up green.
