6.1.4 Unpacking and Delivery

All of the elements that make up the RSTi-EP station are packaged individually for delivery.
Check the delivery for completeness and transport damage.
Report any transport damage immediately to the respective transport company.
The product can be destroyed by electrostatic discharge.
The components in the RSTi-EP series can be destroyed by electrostatic
discharge.
Caution
• Ensure that personnel and work equipment are adequately grounded.
Unpack all parts and sort the modules into the installation sequence as per the instructions.
Dispose of all packaging in accordance with the local disposal guidelines. The cardboard
packaging from the modules and fieldbus network adapters can be sent for paper recycling.

6.1.5 Use in a Potentially Explosive Atmosphere

If the RSTi-EP station is used in a potentially explosive atmosphere rated as Zone 2, the housing must
meet the requirements of explosion protection type Ex n or Ex e and protection class IP54. Sensors
and actuators that are located in Zone 2 or in a safe zone can be connected. All cable glands on the
housing must be approved for Ex e.
