7.1 EXTERNAL CLEANING
Clean external surfaces of the machine with a soft cloth moistened with a mild solution of
deterge nt (such as dish washing liquid) and water. Do not used chemical cleaners or solvents, as
these may have a harmful effect on the plastic surface.
7.2 INTERNAL CLEANING
Internal cleaning should be done at least once a year, and each time service is performed on the
machine. Clean out punch die holes, and any debris throughout the machine.
7.3 INSPECTION
1. Inspect Knife Blade for worn Teflon coating or dull edges. Replace if necessary.
2. Make a test bind. Check for smooth, flat rivets which fill the holes. If not, make any
adjustments necessary to ensure an acceptable bind.
3. Punch a single sheet of paper. Inspect holes for signs of flagging which could mean elongated
die holes. Replace Punch Housing or Punch Pins to ensure a clean punch. Make sure Punch
Actuator is TIGHT against Punch Housing. Replace Retaining Clips or Pins if necessary.
4. Check Punch Timing and Bind Timing Switches to ensure they are properly adjusted.
5. Check all Screws, Nuts, and Bolts for tightness, and check for secure Wiring Connections.
6. Vacuum and dust machine.
7. Lubricate Punch Links, Punch Actuator to Housing, Punch Cranks, and all areas where metal
rides against metal, to ensure smooth operation of all components.
8. Replace Housing Assembly, and plug Power Cord into rear of machine.
9. Punch a 1/8" stack of paper and make a test bind using the stack. Make sure the punch and
bind are acceptable.
10. Empty Waste Tray, and clean exterior of machine.
7.4 LUBRICATION
Approved lubricants include Lubriplate (P/N 9780610).
