6.4 KNIFE CUTTING DEPTH ADJUSTMENT - Figure 6-4
1.
Disconnect Power Cord from the wall outlet.
2.
Remove the Housing.
3.
Loosen the 2 Knife Cutting Depth Adjustment Screws.
4.
Loosen the 7 Retaining Nuts holding the Knife Assembly together.
5.
Remove the Timing Belt from the Camshaft Drive Pulley, and rotate the Camshaft
counterclockwise until the Knife Blade is all the way forward in the Bridge cutouts.
6.
Facing rear of machine, turn Right Cutting Depth Adjustment Screw until first Knife Blade
Tip is flush +.01" with front end of Strip Recess. Turn Left Cutting Depth Adjustment
Screw until last Knife Blade Tip is .04" +.01" with front end of Strip Recess. (Note: "First
Blade Tip" refers to Blade Tip number 1 as you face the machine, and "Last Blade Tip"
refers to Blade Tip number 14 as you face the machine.)
7.
Tighten the Hex Nuts on the Knife Cutting Depth Adjustment Screws.
8.
Tighten the 7 Retaining Nuts holding the Knife Assembly together. Note: Do not over
tighten as you may break the Studs.
9.
Rotate the Camshaft counterclockwise until the Knife is brought to the home position, and
reinstall the Timing Belt.
10. Run a sample bind to test the Knife cutting depth. Minor readjustment may be necessary.
