5.6.7 DEBIND CIRCUIT
When the debind mode is selected by the "Debind" button of the Membrane Switch, the
Debind Indicator LED is illuminated. Lowering the Pressure Bar starts the Bind Motor
via the Bind Timing Switch (S13). The Cam Shaft rotates until the Cam/Solenoid Switch
(S22) is actuated by the Extruder Cam. When S22 is actuated, the Debind Solenoid is
energized, and a time delay is actuated by the Microprocessor; also, the Bind Motor is
stopped during this time delay. The Cam/Solenoid Switch (S22) is set so that the Bind
Motor stops with the Knife Blade at its highest position under the rivets to be debound.
The Solenoid moves the Cooling Finger Cams to the left so that they are out of contact
with the Cooling Finger Bracket.
The bind cycle remains at rest, heating the strip rivets until the time delay of the
Microprocessor times out. T he Microprocessor then restarts the Bind Motor, and the
Cam Shaft is set in motion again. The Cooling Cams being out of contact with the
Cooling Finger Bracket prevent the Cooling Fingers from being moved in against the
rivets. The Pressure Bar raises, opening Pressure Bar Switch (S11), however, power is
maintained to the Bind Motor through S13 until the Drive Gear Lobe actuates S13,
turning off the Bind Motor. In addition, S22 is de-actuated and power is removed from
the Solenoid and the Cooling Cams are returned to contact with the Cooling Finger
Bracket.
