PROBABLE CAUSE
Bind Timing Switch (S13) out of
adjustment or defective.
Pressure Bar Racks or Pinion
Gears jammed with debris.
Pressure Bar Racks uneven.
Roll Pin may be broken, or have
fallen out of Pinion Gear(s).
Drive Gear or Drive Arm may be
broken or have broken teeth.
Drive Arm Roller may be too
high or too low.
Pressure Bar Racks may be
broken.
Pressure Bar may be broken.
Trunnion may be loose.
Pawl Spring out of adjustment or
defective.
Drive Gear and Drive Arm not
meshing due to Side Plate Tab
out of adjustment.
Screw out of Pressure Bar, or
Linkage loose.
Pressure
defective.
Pressure Bar Harness may be
defective.
Bind Motor may be defective.
P.C. Board may be defective.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Adjust/replace Bind Timing Switch
(9779311 - Switch and 9776353 -
Actuator).
Check Racks and Gears for pieces of
paper or plastic and clean.
Remove Pressure Bar and
check/replace Racks (9779044).
Reinstall/replace Roll Pin (9778665).
Replace Drive Gear (9778116),
Drive Arm (9776394), and Brass
Link (9778467).
Adjust Drive Arm Roller (Item 53,
page 8-17) as needed.
Replace Racks (9779044).
Replace Pressure Bar (9781324).
Replace w/Trunnion Kit (9776337).
Adjust/replace Pawl Spring
(9779280) as needed.
Adjust Side Plate Tab (where Drive
Arm comes to rest) up to raise
Pressure Bar higher.
Reinstall Pressure Bar Screw and/or
tighten Linkage hardware.
Replace Pressure Bar Switch
Assembly (9780089).
Replace Pressure Bar Switch
Assembly (9780089).
Replace Bind Motor (9778565).
Replace P.C. Board (9783672).
