MECHANICAL INSTALLATION
4.6.1
Assembling and Mounting the Battery Enclosure
The dimensions of the TPPR Battery enclosure and mounting points are shown below.
1.
Insert the mounting brackets (1) into their mounting points. Fit the M6 bolts and torque to 6 Nm.
2.
Identify the required cable entry point. Remove the cable gland plate and drill out the hole required for the cable
entry. Support the cable gland plate to avoid distortion.
3.
Fit the cable gland to the cable entry. The cable gland should be appropriate to the application and capable of
maintaining the IP20 rating. The cable gland must provide anchorage and stress relief for the incoming cables.
4.
Re-fit the cable gland plate.
5.
Select a suitable mounting position for the enclosure, taking into account the siting considerations above.
6.
Mark and drill four holes corresponding to the mounting hole positions.
7.
Secure the Battery enclosure in place. The mounting holes are 10 mm in diameter. Fixing bolts should be a
minimum diameter of 8 mm, and to a minimum depth of 50 mm.
8.
Feed the TPPR DC-UPS battery supply cables through the gland and insert them into the enclosure Isolator / Circuit
Breaker terminals.
9.
Tighten the cable gland to prevent ingress of moisture.
10. Ensuring that both TPPR mains power and battery isolator are Off, connect the battery supply cables to the DC-
UPS.
Note: It is the installer's responsibility to select the appropriate fixings while taking into account the structure of the mounting
surface and the weight of the enclosure plus batteries i.e. circa 15.5 kg (12 Ah x 2) or 25 kg (27 Ah x 2).
