1. Disengage the feeder assembly from the printer (see section 5.22).
2. Remove all covers, shafts, support frames, print heads, belt drive assem-
bly, etc. from printer (see sections 5.28 to 5.37).
3. Loosen the three screws holding the mounting bracket to the side rail and
relax the tension on the 3mm belt.
4. Walk the 3mm belt off the drive pulley and remove the belt from the belt
drive assembly.
5. Unfasten the four screws holding the motor onto the drive motor bracket.
6. Set the motor on the side. If cables are present, cut the wire ties holding
the cables around the middle of the motor.
7. After replacing the motor and replacing the 3mm belt, adjust the belt ten-
sion using steps A-C below.
A. Loosen three screws on motor mount-
ing bracket (from step 3).
B. Press down on the mounting bracket
to put tension on the 3mm belt. Mea-
sure for a ¼" deflection in the middle
of the 3mm belt between the motor
pulley and the drive roller pulley when
applying 4 ± 0.5 Lbs. of force.
C. Tighten the three screws when at the
proper tension.
8. Reinstall remaining components in reverse order.
