Custom Image Editor

6-24
Chapter 6: Programming
There may be times when none of the 801G*'s many
built-in test images (patterns) quite meet your re-
quirements. In these cases, you may be able to cre-
ate a custom image to match your exact requirements.
A custom image consists of one or more simple geo-
metric objects and alphanumeric characters (primi-
tives). The color, relative size and relative position
of the objects are all editable parameters for most of
the primitives. The images scale to the active video
size of the currently loaded format. A custom image
can be saved in non-volatile memory and recalled
just like any of the built-in images.
Images are created using the custom image editor.
It is one of the screens available in the program-
ming mode. A typical image editor screen is shown
here. The actual editor screen uses mostly lit text on
a black background.
The left side of the screen displays the contents of
the custom image. This includes the type, ordering
and associated parameters for each drawing primi-
tive in the image. The primitives are drawn in the
order shown. The parameters in the far right hand
column will change depending on the type of primi-
tive selected.
