With the transmission impairment measurement option, you
can use the HST-3000 to perform the following voiceband
tests:
– Noise (O.41 method) — measures noise using the ITU-T
O.41 method. Results include the minimum, maximum,
and current noise levels displayed in decibels. You can
also apply a filter.
– Noise with Tone (O.41 method) — Measures the current
noise level in decibels in the presence of a holding tone
(820 or 1020 Hz). You can also specify the termination, in
ohms, and apply a filter.
– SNR (signal to noise ratio) — Measures the signal
strength relative to background noise. You can specify the
termination, in ohms, and apply a filter. The result is
displayed in decibels.
