3 If the NEXT Sweep screen appears, press the Actions
key, and then select NEXT Single.
The NEXT screen appears.
4 Press the Actions soft key, and then select one of the
following options:
Option
To specify the termi-
nation (impedance)
To specify the transmit
tone frequency
5 Press the Start soft key to begin the test.
The crosstalk measurement appears in decibels on the
NEXT screen.
You have completed the test.
This test detects coupling from one pair of wires to another at
the near end over a range of tone frequencies. The HST trans-
mits a range of frequencies on a pair of wires (from the near
end) and the crosstalk is measured on another pair of wires at
the near. This allows coupling from one pair to another to be
detected. You can specify the termination, and the start and
end frequencies for the sweep.

Action
– Select Termination, and then
select a value in ohms.
– Select NEXT Frequency, and
then enter a value from 10 to
2000 kHz.
– Press OK.
