Testing with a UFED

The Opens Custom Cable screen appears.
This feature allows you to save the characteristics of
certain cable pairs for future use to allow quicker setup
time.
c Select New, and then press 1 to specify the distance,
and then press 2 to specify the name.
d Press the Calculate soft key.
The HST calculates and saves the characteristics of
the cable.
e Press the Home navigation key to return to the Opens
menu.

7 To display the results in units of capacitance, press the
Display soft key, and then select Capacitance.
8 Press the Results soft key to clear or save the results.

If using a far end device (FED) accessory, such as a FED,
UFEDII, or UFEDIIB, you can open all leads during the test.
To open all leads
1 Verify you are testing with a FED.
2 Press the Actions soft key and then select FED Open
All.
3 Specify a duration, in seconds. This is how long the leads
will remain open.
The screen displays a duration timer during the test.
