True length test

distance from loop resistance is highly affected by tempera-
ture & gauge. TDR is affected by propagation velocity.
In order to run this script as desired, the following items are
required:
– The HST must be running software version 7.30.12 or
higher.
– The TDR option is required.
– The far end device must be a UFEDIIB.
The following procedure describes how to run a True Length
test.
To run a True Length test

Connect the Tip (A), Ring (B), and Ground (Earth) leads
to the line under test.

Access the Custom Scripts menu.

Select OneCheck True Length.

Select the UFEDIIB pair. The test begins.
As the test runs, the status and results of the test are
displayed.
Confidence in length is based on the agreement of lengths
from the three tests. If all three readings are close to each
other, a high confidence factor is assigned; if there is a bigger
spread, then a lower confidence factor is assigned.
In certain cases, the gauge of the tested pair can be deter-
mined. That result is displayed as a soft key. Possible results
for gauge are '22', '24', '26', 'Mixed' and blank. The TDR uses
