Running the
script
164
The test sets the UFED to open all leads, then measures
leakage resistance across each pair. This determines
whether there is a fault, and if so, attempts to determine
the type of test to be performed.
If the leakage test isn't able to determine the type of test
to recommend, the loop resistance test runs. It sets the
UFED to strap all leads, then measure loop resistance.
As the test runs, the status and results of the test are
displayed.
The kick test measures voltage, circuit resistance, opens and
longitudinal balance.
In order to run this script as desired, the following items are
required:
– The HST must be running software version 7.30.12 or
higher.
– The far end device must be a UFEDIIB.
The following procedure describes how to run a Kick Test.
To run a Kick Test
1
Connect the Tip (A), Ring (B), and Ground (Earth) leads
to the line under test.
2
Access the Custom Scripts menu.
3
Select OneCheck Kick Test.
The test begins.
If the voltage test detects battery, a "open all" command is
sent to the FED, and the test restarts.
