A check mark indicates pass; an "X" indicates fail, an
exclamation point indicates a marginal result.
If the tests pass, dual ended tests start:
– TDR to open FED
– FED shorted to Ground/Earth
– TDR to shorted FED
– Resistive balance
– FED sends WB frequency sweep. The actual
measured loss (AML) is compared to estimated
measured loss (EML). The distance is calculated using
the TDR open and TDR shorted tests. The result is
reported as SL (swept loss)
– Wideband longitudinal balance (WBLB).
The test stops automatically when complete.
13 Optional. To view more detailed measurements, press
the Detail soft key.
To learn what your results mean, see
Chapter 12 "Interpreting Test
14 Optional. Press the Save soft key to save the results.
(For information on associating saved test results with a
test record, see
results".)
The wideband autotest is complete.
The Copper Expert test is an optional autotest that runs a
variety of measurements such as voltage, resistance, opens,
and others to evaluate the pair and provide advice. For this
test, it is recommended that you use a far end device (FED)
at the far end of the circuit.
The following procedure describes how to run the Copper
Expert test.
