PISTON/CYLINDER INSTALLATION

Install the expander and piston rings.
NOTE
Install the rings with the marking facing
e
up.
"' The top and second rings are interchange­
able with each other.
• Do not mix different brands of rings in an
engine. Do not replace one without replac­
ing another.
Install the connecting rod small end bearing, piston
and piston pin.
NOTE
• Install the piston with the "IN" marking
facing the inlet side.
Dip the small end bearing and piston pin in
e
clean oil before installation.
Install new piston pin clips.
NOTE
Do not let the clip fall into the crankcase.
Align each ring end gap with the dowel pin in the
ring land.
