COOLING SYSTEM

THERMOSTAT INSPECTION

Inspect the thermostat visually for damage.
Suspend the thermostat in heated water to chech: its
operation.
Do not let the thermostat or thermometer touch
the pan or false readings will result.
Replace thermostat if valve stays open at room
temperature, or if it responds at temperatures other
than those specified.

TECHNICAL DATA:

Start to open
60-64
Valve lift
3 mm (0.12 in) mimimum
when heated to 70
for five minutes.
INSTALLATION
Install the temperature sensor and thermostat in
the reverse order of removal.
NOTE
Apply liquid sealant to the threads of the
temperature sensor before installation.
Fill the cooling system with the recommended
coolant (Page 10-3).
