Second Tray Unit

A second tray unit increases the paper capacity of the printer. The second tray unit can be loaded with 530 sheets

of 80 g/m
(70 kg) paper and, when using it in combination with the standard cassette, the printer can use 1,060
sheets consecutively. B840dn can be installed with up to two second tray units, using them as its second/third trays.
B820n can be installed with only one second tray.
• A second tray unit may be shown as a tray 2.

• Two second tray units installed to B840dn are called, from top, "the second tray" or "the tray 2", and "the third tray" or "the tray 3."

Press the off ( ○ ) side of the power
switch to turn off the printer, unplug
the power cord and printer cable.

Pull out the paper cassette from the
second tray unit and remove the
protective tape from the second tray unit.

Stack two second tray units before
installing them for B840dn.

Put the printer on the second and
third tray units.
This printer should be lifted up by two or more persons.
Align the bottom holes of the printer with
the bosses of the second tray unit.
Place the printer on the second tray unit.

Reconnect the power cord and the
printer cable to the printer and
turn on the power (|).
