Safety Instructions

Before using your product, read the User's Manual for safety (this document).

General Warnings and Cautions
Do not touch the safety
switch inside the printer; a
high voltage is generated
and electric shock may
occur, and a gear of the
printer revolves and injury
may occur.
If a liquid, such as water,
gets into the printer,
unplug the printer and
contact Customer Service
Center, or fire may occur.
If the printer is dropped
or its cover is damaged,
unplug the printer and
contact Customer Service
Center, or electric shock,
fire or injury may occur.
Do not insert things into
the air vents; electric
shock, fire or injury may
occur.
Do not throw the toner
cartridge into fire; dust
explosion may cause burn
injury.
When the printer is turned on or while it performs printing, keep away from the paper exit, or injury
may occur.

Do not use flammable
sprays near the printer;
fire may occur. Some
parts inside the printer
become hot.
Unplug the printer before
removing foreign material
dropped into the printer,
or electric shock, fire or
injury may occur.
Periodically remove the
power cord plug from the
receptacle and clean its
blade root and the portion
between its blades. If left
in the receptacle too long,
the power cord plug may
have dust adherents at
the blade root and short-
circuit. This may cause
fire.
Do not put glasses on the
printer with water in them;
electric shock, fire or injury
may occur.
Do not make power cord,
printer cable or ground wire
connections not instructed
in this user's manual; fire
may occur.
If the printer's cover
becomes abnormally hot
or the printer smokes,
smells funny or has an
abnormal sound, unplug
the printer and contact
Customer Support Center,
or fire may occur.
Perform operations or
disassembly not instructed
in this user's manual;
electric shock, fire or
injury may occur.
Do not use electric vacuum
cleaners to vacuum off
spilled toner; a spark at an
electric contact may cause
ignition. Use a damp cloth
to wipe toner spilled on a
floor.
When a cover of the
printer is open, do not
touch the fuser unit, or
burn injury may occur.
Oki Data does not
guarantee the operations
of the printer if it is
used with an UPS (an
uninterruptible power
system) or inverter. Do
not use UPSs or inverters;
fire may occur.
