Setting Up on Mac OS X with a USB Connection

Requirements
USB interface-installed model of computer that
runs Mac OS X 10.6.8 to 10.9
• OCF or CID bitmap fonts cannot be used.
Note!
• SaiMincho and ChuGothic displayed in Mac OS X
applications are printed as bitmaps.
• MicrolinePS Utility does not run on Mac OS X.

Driver System Requirements
USB interface-installed model of computer that
runs Mac OS X 10.6.8 to 10.9
• The following functions the Mac OS printer driver
Note!
supports cannot be used:
- Changing paper size from A3 to A4 paper, or B4 to
A4 paper
- Setting on the options panel in the paper setup
dialog box
- Setting binding margins or positions on the
layout panel
- Adding free size
- Watermarking
• As the OS Startup Volume, Mac OS Extended
(Case-Sensitive) and Mac OS Extended (Case-
Sensitive, Journaling) of HFSX file system
cannot be used.
Use any of the following formats:
- Mac OS Extended
- Mac OS Extended (Journaling)
Use a USB2.0 interface cable not longer than 5 m
Memo
(2 m or less is recommended).

Turn on the printer (|).
The printer displays [ONLINE] on the operator
panel when it completely starts.

Install a printer driver.
Disable anti-virus software.
Insert Software DVD-ROM into your
computer.
Open the [Drivers] folder and double-
click the folder of the printer driver you
will add.
Double-click [Installer for OSX.pkg] in the
[Drivers] folder.
Following the instructions on your screen,
install a printer driver. When an authen
authentication dialog box appears, enter
your administrator's name and password
and click [Install Software].

Set up the printer with a USB
connection.
Click X to close the [Print & Scan] window.
Select [Apple menu]-[System
Preferences].
