Duplex Unit (B820n)
The printer needs a duplex unit to print both sides of paper.
B840dn has as standard a duplex unit installed.
Note!

Press the off (O) side of the power
switch of the printer and remove
the power cord, the printer cable
and the cassette cover.
• Installing a duplex unit to the printer with the

printer turned on may damage the printer.
• The printer does not use the cassette cover of
B820n. Keep it.

Attach a duplex unit.

Insert the duplex unit into the lower part of
the rear of the printer securely until it stops.

Be sure that the both latches on the
duplex unit are inserted securely into the
holes on the printer.

Remove the protective tape

Attach to the duplex unit the cassette
cover supplied with the duplex unit.

Attach the power cord and the
printer cable and press the on (|)
side of the power switch.
Reinstall the duplex unit when the printer displays
