eMERGENCY PROCEDURES
Engine Starting During Fl ight:
If
the starter energised warning light stays on after the
starte
r
has been operated.
the
starter
motor
is
continuing to rotate and
is therefore
still engaged.
If
circumstances permit,
tum
master
switch
OFF.
Land
as
soon as practicable. After landing. isolate the batteries as
quickly as possible
rhen
carry out the engine shut-down drills.
Complete Electrica
l
failure:
This failure causes
the
[ass
of all radio, the turn co-ordinato
r,
the fuel quantity indicato rs
and the wing
flap
s.
Tum the master switch to OFF and land as
soon
as possible.
NORMAL
PROCEDURES
Starting
Engine:
A starter
energised warning
light
comes on to indicate that the
starter
motor re lay
is
energised
closed when
the
starter
is operated.
If
the
light
stays
on after the staner button
has been
released,
the
.
starter
motor relay
is
being held closed by
a
malfunction and the
"tarter motor will continue to rotate
until i.ts
electrical
supply
is terminated
,
in
which
case
witch
ofT internal and external electrical
power,
complcte the engine
shut-down
drills and
investigate the causc.
PERFORMANCE
Operation from Grass Runways:
When operating on dry grass on
a
firm subsoil
the
take-ofT distance to a
height
of 50 fr and
the landing distance from a height of 50
ft
must each be increased by an add itional 20%.
When operating on wet
grass
on a firm subsoil the take-off distance to a
height
of
50
ft
and
the
landing distance from a height of 50 ft must cach be increased
by
an additional
30%.
When the
grass is
very shan the surface
may be slippery and
landing distances may increase
by
up
to
60%.
In all
cases
the effect on
the
ground
runlrall will be
greater.
