Note: To remove a field name from the Browse by
window, highlight its name in the Select
fields window and press Enter.
5. To accept the selected fields and return to the data en-
try screen, press the F10 key. (To abandon the se-
lections and return to the data entry screen, press
Esc key instead.)
6. Press F10 to start the search, or specify a search
range or a sort order for retrieved records as de-
scribed above.
Saving and Reusing Search Templates
After a search is made, the set of search and display pa-
rameters can be given a name and saved as a "tem-
plate."
The parameters saved as a template are:
• Fields to be searched
• Field values to be matched (including
wildcards)
• Ranges to be selected
• Sort order
• Displayed fields.
The template can be recalled and edited, or reused as-is
for another search.
Note: Templates can be reused only with their re-
spective databases. A search template cre-
ated for searching one database cannot be
used to search another.
Creating and saving a template
1. Set up the desired search and display parameters as
described on the previous pages, then press F10 to
complete a search.
