Remote Portrait-Taking Tips

The ID-3000 system allows applicant portraits to be
taken remotely with a Polaroid instant camera. These
portraits are then scanned by the ID-3000 system and
used for making identification cards.
For highest quality identification card portraits, follow
these guidelines when taking portraits on instant film at
remote locations:
• Use an automatic focusing Polaroid Spectra
instant camera.
• Make sure your instant film is not outdated.
Check the expiration date printed on the box.
• For consistent portrait sizing and positioning,
use a tripod to support the camera during
portrait-taking.
• Position the camera vertically on the tripod,
with the flash and viewfinder at the top, for
the most pleasing portrait lighting.
• Use a backdrop that matches the backdrop
color used in portraits taken with the live
portrait camera.
• For a correctly exposed background, ask the
applicant to stand so the back of his or her
head is about 6 inches from the backdrop.
