OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Searching a Single Field

The database search feature allows you to search the
database for an individual record or a group of records
based on fields within each record. If you know only an
applicant's last name, for example, you can retrieve the
records of everyone with that name. You can do the
same with department number, clearance code, card ex-
piration date or any other data field in an ID-3000 data-
base.
To search a field, use ↑ and ↓ to move the cursor to that
field on the data entry screen. Type the name, depart-
ment, etc., you want to retrieve, then press F10 to start
the search.
To find Smith's record, for example, type SMITH in the
last name field. Then press F10 to display Smith's re-
cord on the data entry screen. You can then process the
retrieved record according to instructions for the module
you are using.
If the database contains more than one record with data
matching the value you entered, all the matching re-
cords are displayed in the browse window.
Use arrow keys to highlight record and Enter to Choose it
