CLUTCH

CLUTCH DRIVE PLATES
Measure the thickness and claw width of the clutch drive
plates using vernier calipers. If a clutch drive plate is not
within the service limit, replace the clutch plates as a set.
09900-20101: Vernier calipers
Service Limit
Thickness (No.1): 2.62 mm (0.103 in)
(No.2): 3.15 mm (0.124 in) Claw width:
15.0 mm (0.590 in)
CLUTCH DRIVEN PLATES
Measure each clutch driven plates for distortion using the
thickness gauge. If a clutch driven plate is not within the
service limit, replace the clutch plates as a set.

Service Limit: 0.10 mm (0.004 in)
CLUTCH SPRING FREE LENGTH
Measure the free length of each clutch spring using vernier
calipers. If any spring is not within the service limit, replace
all of the spring.

CLUTCH RELEASE BEARING
Inspect the clutch release bearing for any abnormality, es-
pecially cracks. When removing the bearing from the
clutch, decide whether it can be reused or if it should be
replaced.
Smooth engagement and disengagement of the clutch de-
pends on the condition of this bearing.
