Throttle Cable Play - Suzuki GZ250 Marauder Service Manual

• Start the engine, turn the throttle stop screw
the engine idle speed as follows.
Engine idle speed:
1 300 ± 50 r/min .... For E-03, -28, -33
1 300 ±100 r/min ..... For the others
Inspect initially at 1 000 km (600 miles, 3 months)
and every 5 000 km (3 000 miles, 15 months) there-
after.
Adjust the throttle cable play
steps.
First step:
• Loosen the lock nut
and turn in the adjuster
Second step:
• Loosen the lock nut
• Turn the adjuster in or out until the throttle cable play
grip.
• Tighten the lock nut
Third step:
• While holding the throttle grip at the fully closed position,
slowly turn out the adjuster
cable
• Tighten the lock nut

WARNING
After the adjustment is completed, check that
handlebar movement does not raise the engine
idle speed and that the throttle grip returns
smoothly and automatically.
NOTE:
Major adjustment can be made by the carburetor side ad-
juster.
