1.20 Removing and installing front bucket
seat base
Note
Removal and installation is described for the left vehicle side.
Follow same instructions for the right side as appropriate.
1.20.1 Removing
– Attach seat repair stand -VAS 6136- to engine and gearbox
support -VAS 6095- .
– Remove front seat ⇒ page 260
– Secure seat to seat repair stand -VAS 6136- .
– Remove front left bucket seat trim
– Remove front belt buckle:
♦ Two-door ⇒ page 98
♦ Four-door ⇒ page 100
– Remove front bucket seat backrest
– Remove cover and padding of front bucket seat cushion
⇒ page 312 .
– In front area, remove the two bolts -1- (24 Nm).
– In rear left area of seat frame, remove bolt -2- (24 Nm).
– In rear right area of seat frame, remove bolt -3- (24 Nm).
Note
The bolts -1- to -3- are microencapsulated and must be renewed each time they are loosened.

Before new bolts are installed, the threads of the corresponding holes must be cleaned.
